Shirley Marie (Carle) Pappageorge, 65, of Woodsville, NH lost her courageous battle with cancer on August 30, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Shirley was born in Woodsville on September 3, 1956, the daughter of Ronald Carle and Beverly Jane (Smith) Carle.  She graduated from Woodsville High School in 1975.  After graduating high school, she worked at Petco Mini Mart.  From there, she worked for many years at the Coach and Paddock Restaurant as a cook. In 1992, Shirley was employed at the Glencliff Home as a dietary aide, and then later became a recreational aide.  Here is where she bonded with many of the residents.  She loved them and continued visiting them after she left Glencliff.  Until Shirley's declining health, she worked at Rite-Aid in Woodsville.

Shirley's true passion was spending time with her family.  She adored her two sons, Christopher and Shawn, along with her four grandchildren, Carly, Lucas, Landon, and Brianna.  They were a very important part of her world. She enjoyed crocheting, especially making slippers for people while watching her favorite TV channel, Lifetime.  Shirley's other passions included her outdoor plants, takiing pride in her home, and you could find her cleaning it every day. She enjoyed spending time with her sister-in-law, Louise August, laying by the pool. She enjoyed making people laugh with her silly antics.  She liked playing pranks and you never knew when it was your time for one of her pranks. She was always proud of any bargains she could buy, especially from Rite-Aid.  At Christmas time, Shirley was like a child in a candy shop.  She decorated each room from floor to ceiling.  There weren't any spaces in her home that didn't have a Christmas decoration.  She had a warm heart and because of this, she always believed in giving people a second chance.  She chose to see the good in people.

Shirley was predeceased by her father, Ronald Carle on Jan. 18, 1992; her mother, Jane (Smith) Carle on August 3, 2014; her sister, Cathy Carle on June 11, 1988; and her brother, Sherman Carle on Nov. 14, 2011.  She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Prescott and wife Becky of Laconia, NH, and Shawn Prescott of Woodsville, NH; four grandchildren, Carly Prescott and Brianna Prescott both of Laconia, and twins Lucas Prescott and  Landon Prescott both of Woodsville; three sisters, Bernadeen Boutin and husband Randy of Bethlehem, NH,  Patricia Carle-Smith and husband Ken of North Haverhill, NH, and Paula Torrey and husband Scott of Pike, NH;  a sister in law, Louise August of Manchester, NH, and a brother in law, Dennis Impey of North Haverhill, NH; nieces Amber Driscoll, Brigitte Taylor, and Stacie Blanchard; nephews Chad Impey, Justin Carle, and Hunter Torrey, along with their families and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.  On Saturday, September 17, 2022, there will be a celebration of life from 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Horse Meadow Senior Center North Haverhill, NH.
