Obituary

Sugar Hill, NH-  Spencer A. Tewksbury, 87, formerly of County Road, died on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Grafton County Nursing Home.

Spencer was born in Lisbon, NH on May 16, 1929, to Lillian (Young) and Linwood Tewksbury, the youngest of three brothers, Roger and Harry.

Spencer was raised in Bath, NH and worked for the State Department of Transportation for over forty years.  His greatest pride was in maintaining the Kangamagus Highway for winter use.

Spencer was drafted into the US Army and served in Germany during the 1950's.  After his service, he returned to working with the State DOT until his retirement.

Spencer was a quiet, kind man, always willing to help others and enjoyed working outdoors as well as working around and on his "camp."

Spencer was predeceased by his brothers, Harry and Roger.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Dauna and Kipp Ayotte of Woodstock, NH, Cheryl Hernandez of Florida, Dawn Varela of California, Howard and Harold Tewksbury of Littleton, NH; and his "aunt" Irma Clough of Bath.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be on Monday, July 25 at 1 PM at the Bath Village Cemetery, Bath, NH, with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
