Obituary

East Ryegate, VT-  Steve Allen Patneaude, 56, of Meader Road, died following a brief illness on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH.

Steve was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on April 13, 1960, to Joseph S. and Carrie (Bradley) Patneaude.  For several years, Steve worked for Miller Construction doing bridge construction.  Then, he worked for the State of Vermont doing bridge construction for 16 years before retiring in November 2015.  Steve also served in the NH Army   National Guard for 23 years.

Steve had a creative mind and enjoyed designing jewelry.  He had just begun an organic bath and body line and was selling his wares at local farmer's markets.  He appreciated nature and loved berry picking.  He was active with Special Olympics in Vermont.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Bride) Patneaude of East Ryegate, to whom he was married on May 19, 2016; his children, Tanyia Bowen, Para Dillingham, Robert Bride and Ashley Bride; several grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Suede.  He is also survived by three brothers, Ralph Patneaude of West Palm Beach, FL, Robert Patneaude of Barnet, VT, and Dale Patneaude of Woodsville, NH; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, Joseph and Carrie Patneaude, he was predeceased by a sister, Dana.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, June 4, at 11:30 AM at the Newbury Bible Church, 16 Cross Street, Newbury, VT with Rev. Dr. David Lee officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM at the Pinehurst Cemetery, South Ryegate, VT.
