Bradford, VT – Stuart "Butch" Barber, 70, formerly of Cottage Street, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at Brookside Nursing Home, White River Jct, VT.
He was born in New Brunswick, NJ, September 18, 1946, the son of Stuart W. and Virginia (Afflerbach) Barber. Butch moved with his family to Haverhill, NH in 1957. While still a teenager, Stuart started working for the Steeves family in Haverhill as a farm hand. He later worked as a farm hand in Piermont as well as in Newbury before going to work for the custodial department at Dartmouth College. He worked there nearly 20 years, retiring in 2009. He then went to work at Walmart for two years.
He was predeceased by his first wife Doris, the mother of his daughters, Michelle Storms and Tina Barber, both of Elizaville, NY; and also predeceased by his second wife, Joyce (Ball) Barber.
He is survived by his daughters; a stepson, Patrick Ball of Bradford, VT; a sister, Jean Ellsworth and her husband, Mac McNicholas of South Berwick, ME; two nephews; four nieces; along with numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; and a cousin, Dorothy Palmer Lamb of Springfield, VA.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at 2 PM at the South Lawn Cemetery, Piermont, NH, with Rev. George Hemway officiating.
