Ryegate, VT - Susanna (Hinman) "Sue" Clark, 65, passed away on June 15, 2015, at the Hanover Terrace in Hanover, NH, after a thirteen year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Haverhill, NH, June 3, 1950, the daughter of Paul S. and Esther (Johnson) Hinman. Susanna graduated from Newbury High School and the University of Vermont. She worked for the State of Vermont for the Department of Education as a childhood nutritionist for over twenty years. She visited all the Vermont schools throughout the years, working closely with the cafeteria staff for State and Federal funding. Sue helped implement the school's breakfast program in the Vermont school system. She married Theodore W. "Ted" Clark on December 9, 1991. Sue enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting. Over the years she has handmade many beautiful quilts. She was a member of the Vermont Handcrafters. Survivors include husband of 23 years, Theodore W. "Ted" Clark of Ryegate, VT; a daughter, Katrina Whalen and husband Frank of Westborough, MA; a son, Benjamin Goodwin and wife Erin of Spencer, MA; a step daughter, Vicky Olsen and husband Michael of North Haverhill, NH; a step son, Jeff Clark of Burlington, VT; three grandchildren, Jadyn, Warren, and Genevieve; two step grandchildren, Ryan and Garrett; a sister, Helen Monroe of Reading, MA; a brother, Sidney Hinman of Salisbury, NC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a longtime caregiver, Sharon Edson of Walden, VT. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 20, at 11 AM, in the Peacham Village Cemetery, Peacham, VT.
