Bath, NH- Sylvia Ann Martin, 66, of High Street, died on May 8, 2009, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. Sylvia was born on August 10, 1942, in Haverhill, NH, to Linwood and Bessie Mae (Callahan) Tewksbury. She was a graduate of Woodsville High School. She married Philip Martin on June 22, 1963. Sylvia worked as a nursing assistant at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH for close to 30 years, retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Bath Historical Society, the Bath Congregational Church, the Women s Fellowship, and was active in all church activities, including those held during fall foliage. Through the years, Sylvia enjoyed traveling and was especially fond of Prince Edward Island. She was predeceased by her sister Rebecca Tewksbury, a half brother Harry Tewksbury. She is survived by her husband Philip M. Martin of Bath; two sons, Michael G. Martin and Jeffrey S. Martin both of Bath; two half brothers, Spencer Tewksbury of Lisbon, NH and Roger Tewksbury of Littleton, NH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 6-7 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside service will be on Friday, May 15, at 3 PM at the Pettyboro Cemetery, Pettyboro Road in Bath.
