Barnet, VT Thelma (Harvey) Somers, 94, died June 1, 2010 at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, St. Johnsbury, VT. She was born in Barnet, August 2, 1915, a daughter of Edwin M. and Jennie (Chapman) Harvey, and for several years lived in the Washington, DC area where she was an administrative secretary for the Central Intelligence Agency. She married Bruce Somers on July 14, 1960 and they returned to Vermont in the early 1960 s. Thelma was a member and former Deacon of The Presbyterian Church of Barnet at West Barnet. She was predeceased by her first husband Bruce in 1979 and her second husband Malcolm Martin of Lyndonville, and two sisters Elizabeth and Emily. Survivors include a step son Dr. Bruce C. Somers of Germany, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Friday, June 11, at 2 PM at The Presbyterian Church of Barnet at West Barnet, with Rev. Howard Gaston officiating.
