North Haverhill, NH- Theresa L. Shelton, 77, formerly of West Topsham, VT and Woodsville, NH, died on Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, following a period of declining health. Theresa was born in West Topsham on July 1, 1937 to Mervil and Josephine (Pray) Bruleigh. She attended Bradford Academy and graduated from Montpelier High School, Class of 1955. Theresa waitressed for many years at the Village Green in Hanover, NH. She was also known for raising and picking strawberries. Theresa was a communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodsville and was quite active at the Horsemeadow Senior Center in North Haverhill. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, Mickey, Robert and Kendall Beaver Bruleigh. She is survived by two daughters, Roxanne M. Shelton and her family Andrew and Alex of Springfield, VT and Heather R. Shelton and her family Raven, Warren, and Devin of Kezar Falls, ME; two sons, Kevin R. Shelton and wife Elizabeth and their family Bridgid, Erin, and Kathleen of Woodsville and Carl R. Shelton and wife Beth of Walpole, NH; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Valada Richards of Milton, VT and Patricia R. Bouley of Ethel, MS; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Barbara Rose of Woodsville. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 8 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, with Father Alan Tremblay officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Bath, NH.
