Obituary

Haverhill, NH Thomas Richard Barber, 59, of Pleasant View Park, died on Friday, April 3, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Haverhill, NH, August 25, 1949, the son of James H. and Verna (Brown) Barber. He was a graduate of Haverhill Academy, Class of 1967. Tom served with the U.S. Navy from June 4, 1968 to April 28, 1972 and was stationed aboard the USS Independence. Tom had worked for the NH Liquor Commission in the Lisbon, NH store and later transferred to Littleton, NH. He also worked at Blackmount Equipment in North Haverhill for a short time, before going to work at the Glencliff Home for the Elderly. He retired in early 2007, after working there for 20 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, NASCAR, sugaring, and playing cribbage. He was predeceased by his father, James Barber on February 7, 2003 and a brother, Stephan Barber on February 16, 2008. Survivors include his mother, Verna (Brown) Barber of Haverhill, NH; a sister, Cheryl Barnes of Concord, NH; and three nieces and one nephew. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 2 PM, at the Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one s choice.
