North Haverhill, NH- Veronica "Vonnie" Fournier, 85, formerly of Woodsville, NH, died following a lengthy illness on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill.
Vonnie was born in Fairfield, VT, on February 10, 1932, to Willis and Cecilia (Brown) Sorrell. On September 24, 1955, she married Conrad R. Fournier.
Following 27 years of working at the Grafton County Nursing Home, she retired in 1995.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Joseph Women's Club of Woodsville. Vonnie moved to Concord, NH, in 2008, and was a communicant at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Conrad R. Fournier on February 15, 2006; two children, Marie and Gary Fournier; two sisters, Betty Noble and Jane Cowdell; and two brothers, Roger Sorrell and Walter Sorrell.
Vonnie is survived by their five daughters, Deb Patten and husband Richard of Concord, NH, Cindy Fagnant and husband Bob of North Haverhill, Elaine Dame and husband Steve of Concord, Brenda Oakes and husband Jeff of North Haverhill, and Shirley Oakes and fiancé Johnny Schuder of Manchester, NH; six grandchildren, Rob Fagnant, Chris Fagnant and wife Tricia, James Oakes and wife Liz, Matt Oakes and wife Amanda, Ashley Belyea and husband Kyle, and Amanda Oakes; five great grandchildren, Riley and Liam Fagnant, Landon and Madison Belyea, and Adalyn Oakes; six sisters, Louise McKearney, Charlotte Farrow, Rose Petryshak, Nancy Valimont, Joanne Mogelnicki, and Ruby Gorham; two brothers, Philip Sorrell, and William Sorrell; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, July 27th from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville.
A funeral mass will be on Friday, July 28th at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, with Father Alan Tremblay, officiating.
Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Johnsbury, VT.
