East Ryegate, VT- Violet Mae DeRusha, 80, of Farm Street, died at her home on Monday, April 28, 2014.

Violet was born in Newport, NH on May 29, 1933, to George and Evelyn (St. Aubin) Quimby. On August 28, 1982, she married Kenneth E. DeRusha.

While living in Connecticut, Violet worked for Schick Electric and for her brother, Wilfred Quimby in Claremont, NH Upon moving to East Ryegate, she worked at Burndy s in North Haverhill, NH.

In her spare time, Violet liked to play card games and dominoes. She enjoyed reading about the Royal Family of Great Britain and the Kennedy family.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Evelyn Quimby; a special daughter, Sandra Jean; two brothers, Edward and Wilfred Quimby; a sister, Helen Agan; and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kenneth E. DeRusha; five sons, Michael Bedell and wife Margie of South Windsor, CT, Wendell Bedell and wife Diane of Nashua, NH, Keith Bedell and wife Kathleen of Alton Bay, NH, Gary Bedell and Debra of Spencer, MA, and David Bedell and partner Gary of Lempster, NH; a daughter, Cheryl of Derry, NH; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 4 PM, at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.

Burial will be at the Wells River Cemetery at a later date.
