Ludlow, VT- Virginia Main Jennings, 87, formerly of Old County Road in Groton, VT, died at the Gill Odd Fellow Home, Ludlow, VT on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Virginia was born on March 13, 1927, in Minneloa, Long Island, NY, a daughter of Joseph Hiram and Gladys Cordelia (Lenning) Main. On October 24, 1970, she married Robert Jennings. Virginia worked for many years as a social worker in Connecticut. Together, they moved to Groton in 1983. Virginia was a member of the Groton United Methodist Church. For many years she was a Groton Library trustee as-well-as working at the library. She enjoyed pottery and observing nature, particularly watching deer, bears, and birds. She participated in the Northeast Kingdom Coalition for Justice and Peace. She was predeceased by husband of 44 years, Robert W. Jennings on July 24, 2014 and two sisters, Marcia Thayer and Elizabeth Lee. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Bethia Bosco and husband John of Coventry, CT and Emily Manchester of Charlestown, NH; two sons, Dana Manchester and wife Maria of Palm City, FL, and Carson Manchester, Jr. and wife Marion of Vero Beach, FL; a step daughter, Beverly Kosak of Lakeville, CT; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a cousin Alan Lenning and wife April; along with many dear friends in the Groton area. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2 PM in the Groton, VT United Methodist Church with Pastor Candace Ricker officiating. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.
