Lisbon, NH- Walter W. Bunky Garrett, 69, of Barrett Street, died on May 22, 2008, at Littleton Regional Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1938 in Goffstown, NH, to Eugene and Laura May (Cummings) Garrett. Walter served in the US Navy for 4 years, was inactive in the Naval Reserve for 2 years, and was with the National Guard in Woodsville, NH for 10 years. He worked in the furniture manufacturing business for many years, first with Allen Rogers Lumber Company of Wentworth, NH, with the former Plymwood Furniture Company in Lisbon, and then for DCI, also in Lisbon. He was an avid Red Sox fan and also a NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, to whom he was married on February 22, 1969; a daughter, Dawn Horton and husband Ken of Pike, NH; a son Walter W. Garrett, Jr. of Lisbon; a granddaughter Kayla Horton of Pike; sisters Madeline Mailloux of Amherst, NH and Naomi Stone of Nashua, NH; brothers Eugene Garrett and wife Eleanor of Wentworth, NH and Ferald Garrett of Warren, NH; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Taylor of Orford, NH, as well as several sisters and brothers in law and their families. He was predeceased by two brothers, Floyd Red Garrett and Earl Garrett. Calling hours will be Monday, May 26, from 5-7 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 27 at 3 PM also at Ricker Funeral Home, with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, New England Affiliate, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-4688 or to the charity of one s choice.
