Obituary

East Haverhill, NH Walter Forrest Parker, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his home. Walter was born in Dunkin, Quebec, Canada, on March 30, 1930, the 9th of 14 children of Walter Jasper and Carrie Mae (Kittredge) Parker. He lived in Canada for a long time, before moving to Vermont with his aunt and uncle. While taking time off in 1958 from working at a Cabot Cheese factory in North Troy, VT, to visit his sister, he met and fell in love with Priscilla Marianna Boutin. They were married in 1959. Walter was employed at the Frederick Stoddard farm in North Haverhill shortly after they were married. He also worked at Grafton Fuel in Haverhill. Walter was employed by the State of New Hampshire for 23 + years at the Glencliff Home for the Elderly retiring in 1987. He was an active member of the Moosilauke Grange until its closure and continued to be active at the Pine Grove Grange in Bath, as well as, State and National Grange. He was a member of the Woodsville United Methodist Church. Walter seemed to be able to do anything with his hands. He got much enjoyment from cows and chickens he kept for many years, along with his dogs and cats. He enjoyed flowers and gardening and his grandchildren were the joy of his life. He will be greatly missed. Walter was predeceased by his parents and twelve siblings, Geneva, Prosper Buck , Harry, Cecil, Charlie, Eva, Wilford, Archie, Ida, Mary, Hope and Jasper. He is survived by his wife Priscilla of East Haverhill, NH, his son and daughter in law Matthew Parker and wife Colleen, and their children Cassidy and Melody Parker all of Gorham, NH, a sister Nina Parker of Sherbrooke, Quebec, brother in law Delton Boutin of East Haverhill, and sister in law Barbara Dodie Boutin of Haverhill, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Friday, June 6th from 6 to 8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsivlle, NH. The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 7th, at 2 PM in the Woodsville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Clint Brake officiating. Burial will follow in East Haverhill Cemetery.
