Obituary

North Haverhill, NH-  Wendy Sue McKinnon, 58, of County Road, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

Wendy was born in Jefferson, NH on December 11, 1959, to Joan Frenette and Glen Allin.  She was raised by her mother, Joan, and her step-father, Stanley Grattage.  She was a graduate of White Mountain Regional School in 1977 and of the University of New Hampshire in 1981.  On September 10, 1999, she married James T. McKinnon.

Wendy lived in the Jefferson/Lancaster, NH area before moving to North Haverhill.  She was a former certified fire fighter with the Jefferson Fire Department and the Lancaster Fire Department and Ambulance Service.  She spent a long time in the banking industry and traveled extensively in the western United States early in her banking career.  Upon returning to Lancaster, she began working for Siwoganock Bank and later for People's Bank in Littleton, NH.  She joined the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank in the early 2000's where she was a loan processor.

Wendy became interested in assisting deployed soldiers by sending care packages.  Then, she   became more involved in making sure that children in war-torn areas received clothing and goods.  She was recognized for her good deeds and efforts by the military.  Wendy was an active fundraiser for Special Olympics and also for community involved activities through the bank.

She is survived by her husband of over 18 years, Jim McKinnon of North Haverhill; a brother, Glen "Buddy" Allin of Manchester, NH; a sister, Amber Richardson and Pete, also of Manchester; a half sister, Joan Curtis and husband Kevin and their daughter Katie of Bow, NH; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt.

In keeping with Wendy's wishes, there are no public services being planned.
