Warren, NH - William "Bill" Spurgeon Ames, 78, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024. He was born in Warren, NH on March 3, 1945, to his parents Adella (Tilley) and Spurgeon McComack Ames.
Bill owned and operated Ames Trucking. When he decided to move on from that business, he worked for the State of New Hampshire DOT. After that, he worked for Pike Industries as a foreman and truck driver for 25 years before finally retiring.
He also was a proud member of the Vermont National Guard serving out of Bradford, VT.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Adella and Spurgeon Ames, and his sisters, Harriett Libby, Shirley Ames, and Ina Gardner.
He will be remembered by his two living sisters, Elizabeth Carolyn Martin and Audrey Sites, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.  The family is thankful for all the help he received from his many friends too numerous to name.
A graveside service will be on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10 AM at the Warren Village Cemetery with Melissa Gould as funeral celebrant.
