Monroe, NH William Oliver Heater, 76, died on Monday, January 12, 2009 at his residence on Plains Road. William was born in Sandyston Township, NJ, on July 12, 1932, to Merlin Shay and Alice (Morris) Heater. He graduated from Newton High School in Newton, NJ. He married Alice Howell on August 15, 1953. In his early working career he worked for the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ, as manager of the quality control department. For many years he was a produce farmer in Layton, NJ. William and Alice moved to Monroe on November 5, 1995 from New Jersey. He was a former member of the Pine Grove Grange in Bath, NH. He had a passion for baking and cooking, along with making his own wine. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon O Brien on October 31, 2006. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alice Heater of Monroe, NH; his three children, Alice Susan Cooper and husband Charles of Delaware Water Gap, PA, William M. Heater and wife Jenny of Kissimmee, FL, and Eva Marie Heater of New Haven, CT; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven siblings, Shirley Lambert, Jerry and Ronald Heater of Branchville, NJ, Richard Heater of Bridgewater, NY, Fred, Ralph, and Carl Heater also of Branchville; one aunt and several nieces, nephews, cousins. Calling hours and funeral service will be on Friday, January 16, 2009. A calling hour will be at 4 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 5 PM, at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH, with Rev. Donald Thomas of the Monroe Community Church officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Monroe Village Cemetery.
