Obituary

Monroe, NH – William James "Bill" McClintock, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab in St. Johnsbury, VT.

William was born in Newbury, VT, August 26, 1931, the son of Melvin and Eva (Gibson) McClintock. Bill graduated from Newbury High School. He married Ida Louise Bradley on December 29, 1951. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 and with the U.S. Army National Guard from 1955 to 1983.

Bill worked as a milk tester in the area and then for Newman Lumber in Woodsville.  He later ran the Gulf station in Wells River, VT for several years before becoming a heavy equipment mechanic with Caledonia Construction.  Bill enjoyed hunting when he was younger.  Along with Ida, they traveled for twenty years to the Hernando, FL area.

Bill was predeceased by his wife, Ida L. McClintock on May 24, 2011 and a daughter-in-law, Kathy E. McClintock on June 11, 2013.

He is survived by four sons, James McClintock, Sr. of Enfield, NH, Bradley McClintock of Monroe, William McClintock and wife Joanne of Woodsville, NH, and Mark McClintock of White River Junction, VT; nine grandchildren, James Jr., Crystal, Brandon, Tara, Cathy, Christy, Mikayla, Shayleigh, and Brianna; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris McClintock of Newbury, VT and Ellie Allen and husband Dave of Montana; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 1 PM, at the Monroe Village Cemetery, Plain Road, Monroe, NH.
