Bradford, VT William Albert Bill White, 60, of Fairground Road, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, following an accident at his home. He was born in Rutland, VT, May 15, 1949, the son of William N. White and Martha (Metcalf) White Keith. Bill graduated from Wells River High School, Class of 1967. He was literally the last person to graduate from the High School before Blue Mountain Union School opened. After high school, Bill attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT. He joined the U. S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War from July 8, 1970 to August 14, 1974. Bill married Shirley Folmar on March 30, 1974. They lived in Texas from the early 1970 s before returning to Vermont in December 1995. Bill worked as a Blowout Specialist for Neil Adams Firefighters in Houston, Texas and spent time in Kuwait following Desert Storm extinguishing oil well fires. In this profession he was able to travel to many parts of the world. Bill loved nature, watching wildlife, working in his vegetable and flower gardens, his cats, and music. He was predeceased by his father, William N. White on August 26, 1992. Survivors including his wife of 35 years, Shirley (Folmar) White of Bradford; two sons, William Joseph BJ White and his wife Shelly of Bradford, and Nathan Albert White and partner Brittany Meeks of Warren, VT; his mother, Martha (Metcalf) White Keith and husband Edson of Wells River, VT; a sister, Susan W. Brock and husband Alan of Wilder, VT; two brothers, Garry R. White and wife Marilyn of Michigan and Dean A. White and wife Marilyn of Bradford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 24, from 3 to 5 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch St. Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Monday, January 25, at 1 PM at the Congregational Church of Wells River UCC, 76 Main St. Wells River, VT, with Rev. Betty Ann Abild officiating.
